hi science buddies expert!
i have a science project due next week and i am testing the saturated fat levels in a few different oils. this experiment was taken off your website because the tincture 7% iodine was declared some sort of drug in america, however i managed to source a couple of bottles from my chemist and i would like to know how to proceed with my experiment. your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time!

Hi gabi w,
This might be on short notice, but have you heard of oil strips? http://www.allqa.com/Oil_Testers.htm and http://www.allqa.com/aqa1175-6.htm
I'm sure you could compare different cooking oils with them, although they are more for the purpose of checking the extent to which the oils are broken down. I am not sure if you had any other type of experimental question in mind, but this could be a starting point. Hope this helped!
