Phytoremediation of heavy metals in water

Hii!
I really need help with this...
My science project will be about phytoremediation of water. Can somebody tell me how to simulate the contamined water with heavy metals (Copper)?. The size of the container can't be too small maybe a square container of 2 L. Also I need help with the plants, what plants do you recomend me? If I want to use aquatic plants from my country what do I need to look for?
The project is on october 20
