does the sweetness of the apple make the apple turn brown more quickly?

Hi Pete,
That sounds like a very interesting project. I do not know if sweetness will affect the browing an apple. Could you please explain sweetness a little more- threre are many types of sweets.
I did a google search on apple browning and found http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/kids/mailbag ... answer.htm . It talks about what causes the apples to brown.
Hope this helps and please let us know if you need any more help.
Merry Christmas,
Philip

If I'm not mistaken, putting the apple in salt water also prevents browning.
Meanwhile, here's some more information: http://science.howstuffworks.com/question168.htm
Hope that helps.
