Drosophila Melanogaster and Leptin Testing
I am working on a project and my partners and I needed to find out what detects the protein Leptin in the blood stream of the Drosophila Melanogaster and what codes for the protein Leptin? Please let me know if there is any way. Thank you.

Hi mysed18,
Welcome to Science Buddies! Are you doing a science fair project related to leptin function in Drosophila? The Ask an Expert forums are for questions related to science fair projects, not assignments for coursework.
If you do an Internet search, you should be able to find out more information about leptin function in fruit flies. I did a quick search for "drosophila leptin gene" and found lots of interesting things. Here is a good one to get you started: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 124200.htm
If you are doing a science project, please post again with more specifics about your project so we can give you more directed advice.
Good luck!
Heather
