Topics for Water Quality on Aquatic Plants
Someone please help me come up with some topics for my research cards. I need two other topics for the question, "What are the effects of water quality on aquatic plant growth?". I have currently: Aquatic Plants, Types of Water, and Photosynthesis. Any ideas will help. I will need them before November 6. If you can also help me on the best, most efficent way to do 100 tests, the amount we have to do, it will help the most, I live in southern CA, so the climate solution is also needed. THANK YOU

Re: Topics for Water Quality on Aquatic Plants
Hi,
That's a great question to answer - the effect of water quality on the plant growth. I think I understand your question, but let me know if this answer isn't what you were expecting!
Some topics to research ahead of your experiment:
quality of water (nutrients present)
quality of water (toxins present)
type of plants to test
photosynthesis (how would you measure this??)
plant growth
signs of plant stress (wilting leaves, discolorations, etc)
An efficient way to run 100 tests would be to pick a plant that you can measure growth or health differences on a small scale. Maybe you can prepare the plants ahead of time so they are all generally the same size at the start of the experiment (but if they aren't, how can you control for that?). then you can separate them into groups with the same test water (maybe 10 or 20 to each test condition) and grow each group in a common container (like a gallon milk jug).
Does that help get you started?
Let me know how else I can help you.
