Is there any good science fair questions that have to do with making a homemade dobsonian telescope and conducting some research.

Are you interested in building your own telescope, or in doing research using a telescope? If you are interested in building your own telescope, I suggest taking a look at the engineering project guide.

You usually can't just build something from somebody else's designs and call it a science fair project. But, you can identify a need--an improvement to the telescope, etc. and then follow the engineering design process to fill that need.
