properties of milk-made plastic?

Post by PinkSkies »

The question I came up for the science fair is: What are the properties of milk-made plastic?
But I'm not sure of what experiments I can conduct to find the solution for this question.
Can you explain step-by-step process on the experiment that can be conducted?

Hello PinkSkies,

This Science Buddies classroom activity has step-by-step directions for making plastic from milk:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... stic.shtml

You could make the casein plastic and then measure some of its properties, like how long it takes to dry, how much force it takes to break it, how its temperature changes as it dries, etc. What properties would you like to measure? Post back with what you would like to measure, and then we can help you brainstorm some ways to measure them.
All the best,
Terik
