measuring knee stress with hooke's law

Post by vancan007 »

I built a model of the knee to measure the stress put on the patella. To do so, I must use hooke's law. I under stand that in f=-kx, x is the distance, but how do I find the k variable? I do not know the force and I don't know how much weight is pulling the spring. Is there a way to find out the spring constant? In the project tab, it does not tell how to find k, or what k is. Please please please help! My project is due on Jan 27th!
