How to write a research paper: APA vs. MLA
Okay, so I'm going to write my research paper, and I need to know if I should format it as APA or MLA. It doesn't matter style it is grading wise (since this is not part of school), but I want to know which style would be the best to format it as.

Also, the Project guide says to put your name, teacher's name, and course for MLA, and your name and your school's name for APA.
Since Fair rules stipulate that I can't have my name or school name anywhere for my project, what do I put instead?

Hello and welcome to the forum:
Since we are scientists and engineers volunteering here at Science Buddies, I don't think we can help you with items related to the format of your research paper. I'm not sure what forums are available on the Internet to ask these questions, but I think you will get better information from another type of forum. Good luck!
Best, Keith

Re: How to write a research paper: APA vs. MLA
Hi aria12,
I wanted to chime in with an additional thought. As scientists, we write a lot of papers for a lot of different journals. And, often each journal has different formatting guidelines. The "right" way to format a manuscript is whatever way the journal asks it to be formatted--there isn't one single way to format a scientific paper. Since you have the option to choose, I suggest choosing the style you find easier to follow.

All the best,
