Dyeing different fabrics

Post by melmoore »

I performed the experiment on dyeing different fabric types that was on science buddies. The experiment went well and I was able to get different shades of colors. I now need to measure the different color of the fabrics. There was an applet that was on the website that I would use to do this but it no longer works. Now I do not have a way to measure the colors. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can measure these colors? Project is due Feb. 20. Thanks for your help.

Hey there,

I think I found the same project, and yeah the applet doesn't work for me either. You might try updating your java, http://www.java.com/en/ In the mean time, see if this does what you need:

Thanks. I tried updating the java but it still is not working. I think your suggestion may work. I could record the rgb values. My teacher wants actual measurements not just that it is darker or lighter. I didn't want to start over with another project and I do like this one. Thanks again.
