PLEASE HELP ASAP: Dependent variable for my experiment

I need help on my dependent variable before Monday 28th.
My project is, 'Determining Iodide Content of Salt.' Let me give you a background info about my project.
So first we have to make a positive control iodine. Then we test out salts and see if they have a purplish-blue color indicating it had iodine.
So what is my dependent variable? The salt will just change colors.
