Any project on hydro electricity

Post by deleted-67313 »

My son wants to do an experiment on Hydro Electricity. He is in 5th grade. I need some help to get started on how I can help him build the model and what type of data we can collect? I am not that techy to guide him much. Any help is very much appreciated..

Thanks,

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Great idea! Have you checked out Science Buddies projects? I found this one which seems relevant: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#summary. Also, try searching the forums to see what others have done. In a quick search, a previous poster liked this link, (which is pretty technical): http://www.answers.com/topic/water-turbine.

Look around the Science Buddies site and see what you can find. If you still need help, please post again.

Best, Keith

Thank you, We did the experiment. SO the variable we had was.. we changed the water container height, like at 6', 5' etc.. everything else was same. The date we collected did not give much varying results. I feel that we have a flaw in our thinking that container height does effect much.. Feel nervous now because of the approaching timeline on the project. How we change our experiment to achieve some good results. What is the formula that we should concatenate on to prove?

Can you please give some technical details..
