I was wondering if my aim and hypothesis are of sufficient quality , and if there is anythingn that I need to change or if I need to alter them to make it better
Investigating the relationship between the surface area(cm) of a parachute and the Speed(m/s) it will take to reach the ground, by dropping different parachutes with a changed surface area by cutting a hole (with radii of 1cm,2 cm,3cm ,4cm and 5cm)from a maintained height.
I predict, that as the radius of the hole in the parachute increases, the speed at which it moves to the ground will increase. This is because it will not take as much time, when the air resistance is decreased by the hole in the parachute. There will be less upwards thrust, therefore the parachute will be able to glide down quicker. The speed and size of hole should be directly proportional, as the hole gets bigger, the parachute falls faster.
