Dear Sci Buddies,
I am doing a project on microbiology. I am swabbing three different areas of my school, all of which are dry. This leads me to my question, how do you take a proper dry swab so that it will populate my agar loaded petri dish? I have tried to find the answer, but could not find the answer. While you are answering, What led you to be a scientist, and why this area? Thank you.

Re: Microbioligy
Hi,
Take along a vial of sterile water with you and moisten the swabs with it before you swab the areas.

Hi Sybee. Thank you so much for answering my question. I could not find my answer. I can now start my experiment. I hope that it will all work.
Again, thank you. Connor
