Sailboats.
Hello. I'm a high school student working on a project on building sailboats (that will float on a pond). I've done enough research to figure out how a sailboat works, types of hulls, etc. Now, i just need help in selecting the best types of woods (lightweight), goodsail material, etc. Thank you!

awesome science fair
hey man awesome science fair and good luck. im a royal canadian sea cadet a.k.a a sailor. Our sailboat of choice for races are 4:20's. Sails and the points of sail are very important to for the speed. Make sure you have your sailboat running free (stern to wind) and let out your main sheets all the way. If your running free it's best to keep your center board up.
Im che-ko the majorly confused person whos doing a science fair project.

Re: sailboat hull materials
Hi duong_juli8!
You might try plywood as an inexpensive alternative to fiberglass. A google search on "plywood sailboat" yields lots of resources.
