Hair Hygrometer
Hello, I am doing a science fair project on hygrometer outta hair. I am having trouble doing my introduction
I have opened my introduction about what I'm doing and why I am doing it
Any suggestion on what else I should do?

Re: Hair Hygrometer
Hi,
Welcome to the Ask an Expert forums! What you are doing and why you are doing it are good information to include in an introduction.
An introduction should do three things. First, it should explain your motivation for doing the experiment. For example, why did you pick the project that you did? Why are you doing it? Second, your introduction should summarize background information about your project. This would include defining key terms and explaining the scientific principles that will control the outcome of your experiment. This second section is usually the longest of the three sections. Third, your introduction should give people a "peek" at what you are doing for your science project.
From your post, it sounds like your introduction has the first and third parts. I would suggest adding background information to your introduction. However, if your paper will have a separate "background" section, then the information in the second part of the introduction would instead go to the background information section.

To add on, it sounds like you are starting to write your report. The forum has a good example here...

Hope this helps.
