Hi,
I am doing a project from your website (computational exploration of the Protein Function). I have already finished my project, and was wondering if I should enter my project as computer/mathematics or biochemistry/microbiology. since there is no lab involved in the project, will that affect the judge's opinions?

Entering your project

Supraja,

Definitely, you should enter in the computer/mathematics sections. You will have fewer competitors in that section. Most science fairs I've seen need more projects in this category.

Do you have any other questions?

Good luck!

Hi Supraja,

As long as your project complies with the rules of the science fair you are entering, the absence of a wet lab will not affect the judging. After all, you have done work on your computer. You should read the rules of the science fair carefully, and make sure you complete each section required (purpose, hypothesis, etc.) Science fairs are judged on a point basis, so your project would be considered for full credit in every section. Make sure your presentation is clear and complete. If you have questions about the rules of your local science fair, you should definitely talk to your teacher.

I need a sponsor/teacher to sign my application form for the Science Fair. I was wondering whether a science buddies mentor could sponsor me because I used your website for my project.

Thank You,

Sponsoring science project

Hi Supraja,

I've never done this online before. Let me check with the science buddies staff and ask if this is possible. If it is, then I'd be happy to help.
