microbial fuel Cell - problem with procedure/material
Just wanted to advise in hopes to correct/clarify the Proceedure for measureing Power output in the 'Electricity from mud/MFC project'. The proceedure says the MFC kit (which is ordered online) comes with RESISTORS. Mine did not, only 3 Capacitors. The proceedure should be much clearer to explain to that Resistors may not come with your kit and need to be purchased (Radio Shack...). I was trying to take voltage measurements on the Capacitors (as that's all I received and assumed all that was needed). The issue is 2 fold; (1) MFC did not come with Resistors and (2), the "proceedure" is not very clear between the Capacitor and Resistor. I'd recommend a diagram showing removal of the capacity and placement of a resistor. Thanks for your attention and I hope this helps others with the same question/issue I had.

Re: microbial fuel Cell - problem with procedure/material
It depends on when you ordered your kit. The Microbial Fuel Cell kit recently changed (from the manufacturer). It does not come with resistors, and the procedures at Science Buddies were updated to use the new kit specifically.
If you have an older kit, I can get you a copy of the older procedure for the project you are doing. Email me at [email protected]
