Measuring Thresholds of Hearing Project

Post by gdpogue »

I am using the project "Measuring your threshold of hearing for sounds of different pitches". Analyzing my data I am finding that my calculated threshold value is coming up negative. How is this happening?

thresholds

Hi, it's a bit hard to say what's going wrong without some more information about what you are doing. If you could summarize what sort of data you are analyzing, and how you are calculating the thresholds, someone might be able to help.

I am using the forumla that is supplied with the project from Science Buddies. The project is "Measuring your threshold of hearing sounds of different pitches".

I found all the instructions on Science Buddies and followed it to a T. If you look at the data sheet that the project has in it, the end result is a calculated value. This value is the threshold that is compared with all other test subjects.

Can you provide sample data and the equations? Attach your Excel spreadsheet if thats possibel, it was in the old days....

The only way we can help is to see your work.
