I'm going to do a project on MagLevs for my science fair. I'm excited to build the model and do the research but I'm not sure what the best scientific question would be. How much weight can it hold sound boring and an EMP engine vs a regular dc battery/fan engine would too hard to make. I just need a scientific question that's interesting and within my skill range.
Thanks,
Kellen

Re: MagLev Science Fair Project
For this type of project you may want to look at efficiency. You could ask the question "How can we maximize emp by altering such and such..." Look for ways to maximize efficiency while reducing the current required, and look at many aspects of the vehicle. After that, you can extend your results to the real world and see what implications it has. Who knows, maybe your design could lead to brand new maglev trains.
