Which are the independent and dependent variables in the "How do you make the best cookie" project and is there any controlled variable?

I haven't done that one myself, although coincidentally we're baking chocolate chip cookies today. :)

The constants are the things that stay the same. The independent variable is the ONE thing you change and the dependent is the result.

If you make two identical batches of cookies and let one sit in the refrigerator for a day, what one thing is different? When you bake the two batches, how do you tell which one tastes better? Finally, what things were kept the same about the two batches and how they were baked?

Hi there,

The previous expert already gave you some really good advice. For future reference, if you haven't seen this already, Science Buddies has a great page that describes how to identify variables within your experiment.

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... evariables

Take a look at these guidelines and see if that will help you figure out what the variables are in the "How do you make the best cookie" project. Let us know if you have any questions or if you want to see what you came up with is correct.

Best,
Connie
