Putting "what are some science fair projects for sound absorption?" to answers.com, you get a whole set of pages of science fair projects. There are a quite a large number of pages to look at.
I didn't scan didn't scan through all of general science fair projects (about 30) to see if they had sound absorption projects.
One page, http://share3.esd105.wednet.edu/mcmille ... bertd.html , is a sound absorption project.
Another page, http://www.arinc.com/news/2004/01-27-04.html , mentioned a sound absorption project. It also listed a contact. Maybe you could reach the contact by phone or e-mail to get some information about sound absorption project.
