Hello. As long as your procedures support investigating your hypothesis, there is no single correct way to conduct an experiment! Be sure in your presentation and notes to annotate exactly what you did and why. Even if your conclusions don't support your hypothesis, that's ok! That does not equate to a failed experiment. Sometimes, one learns more from these type of conclusions than one that ends in supporting the hypothesis.
