Light from your eyes.

Post by deleted-329940 »

When I shine a light at the cat his eyes glow, but when he turns his head you can't see the light that is coming out.By chance I was looking through small hole at a light with one eye, I saw a pattern. As I was looking at this hole my eye teared and I could see that it was a image of my eye.If I got closer I can the inside of my eye. After I saw this I began seeing the pattern every were. The other thing is one hole or one hundred the image fills each hole. Empedocles may be right, but I'm having a hard time proving it ,because some people can't see it or don't want to?

Hi,

For those who may not know, Empedocles was an ancient Greek philosopher (490-430 BCE) who, among many other things, put forth the idea that objects were visible to us because light rays streamed out from our eyes and illuminated them. If that is true why can't we see in the dark?

I read your interesting observation about the image you saw through the pinhole but i did not understand what you meant by "seeing the pattern everywhere". What pattern? How could you tell you were seeing the inside of your eye?

A pinhole can act like a camera lens: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinhole_camera

When you looked through the pinhole could you have been seeing an image of the light or a reflection of your eye somehow? Have you been able to repeat the 'experiment' and have someone else try it?

Post again and let us know what you found out.
