OOBLECK!
So I am doing a science fair project, and my question is "Why does oobleck seem like a solid when you apply pressure roughly/quickly?". I know t he conclusion, I have done everything! BUT! I don't know what to do for an experiment that is relevant to the answer. The answer is that the cornstarch particles are forced together making it seem like a solid. What can I do as an experiment that is relevant t the question? PLEASE HELPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: OOBLECK!
Hello XxoNicoleoxX,
There is a project on the sciencebuddies site that seems related to what you’ve described:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p014.shtml
In this project you make a colloidal solution (oobleck), a suspension and a true solution. And you record observations about the properties of each. You might want to review this project to see if this experiment meets your needs. If not, please post again and we’ll work from there.
I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions.
