Me and partner are really stuck on choosing a topic for our science fair project. Its due in 20 days. It can be either an experimental or research project but it NEEDS to relate back to the environment. We are interested in anything COMPLEX as long as it relates back to the environment. We want a project that will WOW the judges. We want a project that is above our grade level ( we are in grade 7 and a grade 8 or 9 project would do good.) Thanks
We Need A Topic ASAP!!!!!!!

Have you tried looking under the "Project Ideas" tab and searching there? There are tons of great ideas and you can search terms like "environment" or "green"
or look at all the "Earth & Environmental Science" ideas. Each project has a difficulty rating to help you decide if it will work for you. Here's a guide to what these ratings mean and for what grade level(s) they are appropriate.

Ok thanks for the suggestion but we already tried it. We were thinking about doing the "what coca-cola can actually do". Do you have any ideas where we can get more info. on that?

Is the Coca-Cola idea from Science Buddies? I'm not sure what the question means exactly or what you'd be testing.
How about this one? "Could hair be used in absorbing oil spills?" Sounds kinda fun and definitely has to do with environmental science. I found it on this list. Can't vouch for any of these experiments being great but maybe they'll give you some ideas!
I don't know if you've seen this one, but there's a Science Buddies project idea where you learn how to locate the epicenter of an earthquake that looks challenging but cool. Here's the link.

Re: We Need A Topic ASAP!!!!!!!
It is so awesome that you guys are excited about science fair! I hope you both do great!
Regarding your "does olive oil freeze" experiment idea, here is a link that goes into detail about what happens when you put olive oil in the freezer: http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/ ... 610808.htm.
I am a little unsure about what you mean by "what coca-cola can actually do". If you want to experiment on how coca cola affects the body, I would recommend looking at this resource: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/297600.php. If you want to experiment on other practical uses for coca cola (besides drinking), I would recommend this source: http://www.reshareable.tv/25-practical- ... -cola.html.
Hope this helps!
