Help! I'm confused about Nanoscale project

Post by mamanurse »

I did the "Exploring Nanotechnology: Fold, Roll, and Stack.....", and I'm confused about which structure represents the fullerene and which represents the diamond. Can someone clear that up for me, please?

mamanurse - I'm not familiar with this experiment, but in reading it through my thought is that the cylindrical tubes represent the fullerene stucture in many ways, and the origami cube, with it's interleaved design, looks closer to the diamond structure's tetrahedral lattice. Perhaps another Expert can give a better definition, but this would be my guess.
