How old I would be at 1/5 the speed of light if I'd travelled for 1 light year?

Post by deleted-335874 »

I am a Spanish student in a grade that would be equivalent to grade 10. My question involving physics is for a short sci-fi story I am writing.

If I was traveling at a speed of 1/5 the speed of light and right now I am at 1 light year from where the journey first started, how old I am if I was 20 when I got into the spacecraft? And how much time has passed for the people living in Earth (let's say The Earth is the starting point)?

My hypothesis is that I would be 25 years old, but I really don't know how much time would've passed for Earthlings

Thanks in advance,

Alicia :D

Hi Aliciacuber,

Please do not post the same question multiple times--it makes things confusing for the Experts who are trying to help. I responded to your other post.
All the best,
Terik
