Hello.
We have a 9th grade sci project due and would LOVE to do something related ot calcium and bones. Any suggestions for how to measure the calcium absorption of bones for example? Any other related ideas for how to make this an informative interesting pursuit??? thanks

Calcium Absorption
guinbones,
Depending on what your experimental setup is, you may consider placing bones in a calcium solution, and measuring the amout of calcium is left in the solution after the bone is removed. However, to provide a quality answer to your question, I will need more information. As to other ideas: consider measuring the effect of phosphorus on the absorption of calcium in bones. However, if you are planning to do this project for a science fair, there are special forms that must be filled out in order to use real bones. If you give me the name of the science fair that you plan on entering, I can tell you the exact paperwork that you will need to do.
Good luck!
