To measure your heart rate, simply check your pulse. Place your index and third fingers on your neck to the side of your windpipe :idea:

Rachel has given you a great suggestion for measuring your own heart rate. Here is another suggestion from a project idea from this website. You can measure heart rate by by detecting your pulse at your wrist:

Or, you can make your own stethoscope and measure your heart rate directly.

All methods should give the same results.
