Hi everyone,
I am very new to the Intel science fair and I cant figure out if I need a mentor, and if my parent can be the adult sponsor instead. I wanted to know because I don't really feel a need to have any help. I know that sounds arrogant, but I have already figured out how to make my project (Engineering) and all I really need is someone to sign the papers. I emailed the person who runs the regional fair, and he said that having a teacher as the sponsor is more of a formality.
BTW My dad actually has a scientific background, so he could probably help write the research paper.
TLDR; Do i need an actual mentor/adult sponser, or can it be my dad?

Re: Regional Intel Fair - Adult Sponser
Hi FunnyKiwi,
Your parent can be your adult sponsor, as long as your parent has a solid science background (it sounds like he does) and will actually be supervising you while you do the project.
