Control test for my telescope images project
I am comparing x-ray, infrared, visible light, and ultraviolet light telescope images to each other and what they detect (Variables that might be detected: temperature, chemical composition, wavelength, etc.) I am creating an image for each type from real x-ray, infrared, visible light, and ultraviolet telescopes. Does it make sense to use visual light images as my control (the unaffected test with no manipulation)? This project is more-or-less based on the X-Ray Vision: Seeing Into Space project (https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... background) but I had to change it so that it was a testable experiment.

Re: Control test for my telescope images project
Hi beksicles,
Are you making false color images from the x-ray, infrared visible and ultraviolet telescope images? If so, I think it might make sense to compare these with images that haven’t had false color added. The comparison might be used to show the effect of false color on the final images.
I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions.
