Measuring biomass/ oil yield

Post by deleted-364663 »

In my project I'm determining the effects of a low nitrogen to phosphorus ratio on algae growth. In order to measure the overall growth, I was thinking of putting the algae in a centrifuge (2mL testing tubes) every 2 days for 3 weeks, and measure the biomass and oil yield. How can I measure each separately, that is to say, separate them into two different tubes from the centrifuge? I was thinking of using dialysis tubing?
