Additional Science Questions

Post by deleted-403389 »

We would like to ask a couple of new questions because the first person we had asked these did not provide too clear of an explanation. Thank you to those who did reply to our previously different questions. :?

1. Why can some materials insulate heat better than others? For example, metal can insulate heat better than wood.

2. In your opinion, what factors can affect heat and cold insulation?

3. From our experiment, we figured out that aluminum foil insulates heat the best, why do you think so?

4. When we applied cold to our materials, the temperature increased as soon as we took away the ice pack but then started decreasing. Do you think it increased because of the room temperature?

Please do reply, we only just need a few more tidbits of information to complete our science fair! Thank you so much! :P

Special thanks to all those who replied to earlier questions.

Hi Girafeee666,
May be I am not understanding correctly but metal is a conductor and not not very good at insulating since it conducts. Please use the keyword "thermal insulation" on wikipedia and see if we are talking about the same thing.

Good Luck and please let us know what we can do to help!
