what happens to the tow poles if you break a magnet in half?

Is this question related to a K-12 science project? If so, what is the hypothesis you are trying to test? If not, then a different set of online forums will better able to help you.
That said, gently breaking a magnet in half would create two magnets, each with their own positive and negative poles.
