The Effect Of Eating Too Much Sugar

My project is about the effects of eating too much sugar. I'm basically testing to see how much sugar we actually consume daily without even knowing. What I learned over the past few days was that people and students don't really know how much sugar they consume. I also learned that if you consume too much sugar, you will have a higher chance of having Diabetes and shortening your lifespan. For my whole experiment, I'm planning on surveying friends and family on what food products they eat daily. I would record the responses and go grocery shopping for each product. I am going to be using small packs of sugar and cups as part of my materials. I would use those materials when I look at the food labels of each food product and see how much grams of sugar are in each product. I would then put one small packet of sugar into a cup so that one pack of sugar = one gram of sugar. I would repeat the whole process for each product from each person. This is basically what my science experiment might be like. I am currently still researching to see what other causes may happen due to consuming much sugar. My only problem about this whole project is that I don't know too much of the bad causes of eating a lot much sugar. I'm hoping you could help me with my little problem.
