romesh - Wear in any mechanical system occurs where parts move while in contact with other members of the appartus. In a motor, the parts that move against each other are, for example, the shafts and bearings, brushes against commutators, or contacts against slip rings. Even though lubrication is provided in some cases, wear does occur.
