My son is doing some coursework but was wondering what plastic ps4 game cases are made of , he thinks thermoplastic polymer? Also how is it made, is it pressed plastic or injection moulding, also why is this method used.

many thanks, look forward to finding out

dmmorris - While this doesn't sound like a project question, I'll be glad to suggest an idea or two. I have never seen a PS4 game case, but I would certainly guess that it is made of a common plastic, a polymer, certainly a thermoplastic. That just means that when the material is heated, it will melt. It will also likely to have been made by an injection molding process as the most prevalent, low cost, precise manufacturing process for high volume production. And certainly, it is a polymer. Hope that helps. You can search the internet for more explanation of any of these terms.
