How do I know how much material I need for testing sound?

If I'm making sound barriers around something to test how good it is for blocking sound, how much do I use? Should it be based on weight or size?

If you are trying to find out which is the best material for sound barrier
Noise barriers depends on several factors - including Choice of Material for the barrier, how big is your test box (or frame)
Suggest to use same amount of diffrent material to cover your test box - use the same frequency of sound
