Adding water to trampoline affect

Post by deleted-455747 »

Yo, whats up bro. My testable question is "Does water make a trampoline bouncier? My hypothesis is adding water will make a trampoline bouncier because the water puts more weight downwards which adds more force upwards. Can you give me more information about the scientific part of this topic? Thank you

Hi Colin,

While this is a very interesting project idea, it seems to me that this is much more physics oriented! The idea of action-reaction pairs (in that a mass (the water) exerts a force downwards (gravity) and that the trampoline exerts a force equal and opposite) is Newton's 3rd Law of Motion!
Perhaps inquire about this project in the forum "Grades 6-8: Physical Science," and they will be much more prepared to assist you!

Hope this helped,
