What to Include in Procedure

We are building an Archimedes Screw Pump and measuring the number of turns required to move a specified amount of fluid from a lower reservoir to an upper reservoir. We want to know if the procedure portion of our Research Plan should include step-by-step details of how to construct the screw pump or if it is ok to just give a general description of how we built it and save the step-by-step detail for the actual experiment? :mrgreen:

My suggestion is to give details of your pump construction in the experimental section of your final report. Some guidelines for your final report are available here:

Your research paper could include a general description of your pump as well as references to other examples of similar pumps. Information about research papers is available here:
