Can I touch an electromagnet?
I'm trying to make a glove for a science fair using an electromagnet to push and pull objects. How will touching it affect me, it, and others around me? Will it be weaker? Should I insulate the wire? If so what should I use? What will happen to me if I touch it? Will it get hot, Will I get shocked?

Re: Can I touch an electromagnet?
Hi Unidragosisisis,
You might want to take a look at this project:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ctromagnet
This project contains some great information about how to make, handle and test electromagnets. This includes the type of coated wire that works well and how to connect your electromagnet to a battery. The tutorials mentioned in the project provide good background on electricity and magnetism.
I hope this helps. Please ask again if you have more questions.
