Can A Child Have a 100% DNA Match With Their Mother?

Post by Arete57 »

I'm evaluating data regarding fertilization, development, and differentiation of individuals in order to construct a logically valid (and hopefully sound) answer to the question of abortion. I need to know if it is possible for a child to have a complete (100%) DNA Match with their mother, in order to determine if a DNA test would determine beyond doubt whether a fetus is a distinct human or a part of the mother's body. I would greatly appreciate valid reference materials. Thank you for your time.

Hello,
The Science Buddies Ask the Expert forums are for students in grades K-12 who are doing science projects. There are other websites on the internet where your questions will be more appropriate. Thank you.
