Saturated Solutions: Measuring Solubility Project Questions

Post by deleted-642877 »

Hello!
I have been working on the Saturated Solutions: Measuring Solubility Project for a while now, and got pretty much all of it done. I'm on the last few steps in the "Analyzing Your Results" section, but I'm having a hard time understanding how to calculate the average solubility for each method. Could I have some help with this, please? Thanks so much, and have a wonderful day! :D

Hi Mimi366,

The project procedure directs you to measure the solubility three times by each method for each chemical. For example you should have three measurements for method 1 and three measurements for method 2 for salt (NaCl). And you'd have the same measurements for the other two chemicals.

Calculate the solubility for each of the measurements. You'll have nine solubility values for each of the two methods. Average the three solubility values from method 1 for each chemical. And average the three values from method 2 for each chemical. You'll end up with a total of six averages, one for each chemical/method composition.

I hope this helps. Please ask again if you have more questions.
