Project on Sickle Cell Anemia

I need help because I cant find out the chromosome number for Sickle Cell Anemia. I also need help because I couldnt find its Karyotype and its history.

Sickle cell anemia is the result of two mutant copies in part of a protein called hemoglobin. This gene is on chromosome 11. For more info check out this link (and links from this page):

A karyotype is not particularly interesting as it would look like a "normal" one. Small changes in genes can not be detected by karyotype methods.
