How to quantifiable measure the browning of a sliced avocado?

Post by deleted-735306 »

Hello!

I've been working on a research project for my high school class and I've hit a rather massive road block. My experiment is essentially measuring the effectiveness of different pHs on the retardation of browning on avocados. However, I need ways to quantifiable measure the browning of a avocado sliced in half and there's not much research out there.

Side note: I do have access to a spectrophotometer however I'm not sure how to use it with an avocado.
