Hello,
The Ask the Expert forums are for students in grades K-12 who are doing hands-on science projects. If you are doing a science project of the effect of carbonated water on plants, please provide more detail about what you are planning, including your hypothesis and what experiments you plan. You might also search the Science Buddies project database for projects involving carbonated water:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... e-projects

If you are asking for help with a homework assignment, there are other sites on the internet where your questions would be more appropriate. Thank you.

Hello,

You should thank your teacher for encouraging you to develop the background and rationale for your project. You will need to include that information in your project display board - the judges will be looking for that, particularly at the grades 9-12 level!

Here's a link to the Science Buddies Project guide. This should help you prepare your display board. At this point, pay particular attention to the "Doing Background Research."

Then use google or another search engine and look for information about using carbonated water on plants. Use that information to answer your teacher's questions AND to write the background section for your project report and display board.

Let us know if this helps and be sure to post again if you have more questions. Also, could you tell us more about your project, like where you got the idea, what plants you are testing and how many plants.
