Rainbow Fire Experiment- mixing chemicals?

Hello- My son is preparing to do the Rainbow Fire experiment and asked if he could mix the chemicals to get different colors, like in paint. I don't think it will work, but want him to be able to test his idea provided it isn't dangerous. So, can he safely mix the colors provided in the experiment to attempt a new color- like mixing the Sodium Chloride with the Stronium Chloride to try to get orange?

I love the curiousity to see if other colors can be made! Yes, it is safe to mix the chemicals. However, when handling any of these chemicals be sure to wear gloves and avoid breathing in the dust.
