Research on myelin degenerating disease

Post by deleted-944412 »

Hi,

I am planning to do a research on a myelin degenerating disease and I am thinking of using earth worms. I want to test a few compounds on the disease to check to see if it improves the myelin sheath of the worms.
I have the following questions, can you please give me some suggestions to do the research.
1) Do you have any other suggestion apart from earth worms?
2) Do you know any way that I will be able to check the effects of the compounds on the worms?
3) How can I measure the progress and the result?

Thank you :)

Please provide more information so that we can better assist you with ideas for this project.

Thank You!

You may want to look into zebrafish larvae or Xenopus tadpoles, as they have myelin but are also transparent, allowing for microscope imaging, if you have access
