quartz heaters

Many of the Mini Oven/Toasters available have two quartz heaters. (A few still use resistive rod heaters) The instructions for those with quartz heaters usually state "Do NOT use aluminium foil or containers", This is obviously a disadvantage, Why does this restriction apply?
